With the warm weather and rain coming, how much will it deteriorate the ice? Places like Hay Bay/shermans/the reach. We are staying near shermans and I heard the ice has been really good, but for about 24 hours the forecast doesnt look good (of course right when we are there). Just looking to see what people think who have experience in this area. Going to be a wet one Thursday hah

You will be fine at Shermans and Hay Bay. Worst case the Reach may need some onsite checking with a spud. Wear boot spikes because the ice will be slick. It is slick now with frozen surface and no snow. Wear a weatherproof insulated suit. Good luck.

I haven't been down that way at all this year so keep that in mind. What i have seen over the years with warm spells/rain is it doesn't seem to take as much ice off as one would think it would. Usually the snow stuff on top goes first then the ice turns from black to gray and then starts to loose ice. Huffs and high current areas are a different story. I would venture to guess you will be fine shermans and none current areas in hay bay.

Thanks for the replies! Yea that's kind of what I was thinking. Was also thinking the fishing could heat up with the warm up as long as they are around!
