Looks like a fairly new opening as the water was flowing pretty good Tues night. Big Island, Sprague Rd launch pt, about 300 metres out running West/East, then turns and goes North/South a bit further to the East. As wide as 10 ft in many places so be careful out there. Fishing was slow too with only 3 dink walleye and 20 small perch.

Thank you for posting this info. My wife and i were planning on fishing big bay this weekend but with all the warm weather and a lot of rain, i have a feeling things are going to turn bad quickly.

Was off of Pt. Anne the other day. I am glad for the power auger. I would say 2 ft of ice. I doubt this melt will make much of a difference. Just i case, stay away from the current area's in the narrows or by river mouths.

Thanks for the info WALLYMAN. Hearing the ice is that thick makes me feel a little safer. We'll avoid those certain areas.

Further east from the Big Isl shoal. but it very well could have run all the way West to that location too, I can't say.
