With the slow fishing on the bay, for me anyway, Ed and I decided to meet with Hans and take another crack at the lakers. Launched from finkles and made our way out to the 70 ft mark in the crowd of huts out there. Right off Hans catches a couple and we are all marking. I went home skunked going 0/4. 4 fish on but all came unbuttoned almost immediately. Ed, who hasnt iced a laker before got his first, a 6lber, then a second, 7lber and a third which came in at 15lbs even. Nice pb! Everything came on spoons and 2 of the 4 that I lost were on swimbaits. Sunday I was planning on hitting the bay but with 60k winds in the forecast decided to couch surf instead.

Hey Dan nice fish. just curious how safe is the ice off finkles?

There is a pressure crack straight out. It was 8 " where I was fishing. You know to always check the ice and bring a spud ect. The gap is not safe and just last week it was wide open water.
