Been a good week so far:
Saturday about 5 to 10 km west of Ducks, 120 feet to the bottom, we caught 3 salmon below 100 ft.:
16, 19, 20 lbs and sent them to the BBQ.

Yesterday, off Melville, released a 26 inch Walleye, 12 ft down in 20 ft.
Hoping to continue the luck tomorrow.

Nice 18 and 25 inch Walleyes, on opposite sides of Middle Ground shoal just south of Melville, caught at 9 and 10am in 25 ft of water. I like fish that sleep in before they start feeding !!

Thanks for the report. It is nice to know that they are biting in the morning at Melville Shoal. We normally do well there in the evening.

Last evening, I tried my first evening fishing (only took up fishing in 2021 with purchase of new boat).

Otherwise, I am daytime only, largely due to scheduling convenience and laziness LOL.

Picked up a 21 inch W, around 7:30 pm...other guys trolling near me were shut out, but were optimistic that the bite would start later.

Strangely, because I primarily fish daytime, seems to get only bigger walleye, but in limited numbers.
They must be more aggressive.

Thanks for your interest
