I have a question , like some help. There is a new resort planned for Hay Bay (Hay Bay Resort) site has already been cleared and work to start shortly. He plans on having a 100 slip marina at his spot where Perfect Vue campground was.. Is he aloud to dredge there, I know it is very shallow and can be really short when the water is down so if he were to dredge it would be a big material removal. Great spawning ground for walleye and bass and he wants to make a resort there, no issues with that just they want to dredge and I thought it was a no no. As well he screwed over a lot of campers that were there.... Thanks

There is likely a number of federal, provincial, or municipal legislation and policies regulating the proposed development, which would require approval prior to work starting. Federally, the fish habitat protection provisions of the Fisheries Act are administered by the Fish and Fish Habitat Protection program within Fisheries and Oceans; more information can be found on their website https://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/pnw-ppe/ffhpp-ppph-eng.html. Provincially, they would require a permit under the public lands act which is issued by the MNRF (see https://www.ontario.ca/page/crown-land- ... its-policy).

Hope that helps

You can likely contact the relevant agencies and inquire if an application has been made and should be all available under freedom of information requests.

If they dredge that western bay at Perfect Vue, then it will fill in a number of years, prevailing winds are from the west and fill it back in.

Dredging the bottom or altering the shoreline require special dispensation from the Govt.

Couldn't but a deck on my cottage without quinte conservative being involved and it was 80 feet from water. Pretty sure he would way more hoops to jump through
