Brought the sled and wondered if the slush was going to be bad. There are slushy spots getting on the ice and a couple areas not to far out. Once out and away no slush until you punch a hole then the weight of the snow has the water pushing up and turning the area around me slushy after a couple hrs. I heard someone traveled west and theeir sled went through but don't know any more details. They were heading towards the western end of big bay. I didnt venture that way. Where I was 6" mixed black and grey ice. Fishing was decent, landed 5 and lost 3. Biggest was 7.5 lbs.a krave spoon and horiziontal jigging baits were working.

Its a spoon made by a young guy in Deseronto. Its similar to a side winder. You can find him on Facebook.

The finish on those looks really good.

I fished big bay yesterday with my son and we only managed one on a buckshot and son lost one just at the hole. We had plenty of opportunities and lots of burners on the screen just could not seal the deal and trigger the bite.

Nice to see so many people out and the weather was awesome.

We definitely had some water coming up the holes with the snow weight but the floor tiles saved us on that one. It was entertaining watching my son pushing down from one end and watching the floor rhythmically moving an inch of water underneath it
