Quinte Fishing

What a great few days around the opener for weather... Winds were great, temps were good and the fishing was awesome Best in the last few years I spent 4 days with our usual guys fishing the narrows for larger catch and release fish and the mouth of the Nappanee river for eater fish. Jigs and rubber in the narrows (no live bait) and harnesses Pink/White and Gold single blade style was the ticket for us. Looking forward to the next trip in a couple weeks. Sorry no pics to share this time.

I agree. My group of friends fished the opener and stayed until Wednesday. The winds prevented us from traveling far on two occasions, but all in all the weather and the conditions were very favorable. We managed a bunch of eaters (3-5 lbs) on stick baits at sundown at the tip of Glen Island and throwing around the concrete pillars at the cement factory. The popular color was Pewter Pearl suspending Bomber. We haven’t seen early season action like this in quite some time. We saw many boats up and down Long Reach putting the net in the water, so that was a great sign that many other people were enjoying their outings as well.
