FISHERIES and OCEANS CANADA
On July 3, a single adult female Grass Carp was caught in the Bay of Quinte, Lake Ontario by a commercial fisher. The fish weighed 20.996 kg and measured 1.16 m in length and shows no signs of having spawned recently.
Our response crews and an Ontario Natural Resources and Forestry crew searched the Bay of Quinte for additional #GrassCarp. None were found. This is the 31st Grass Carp found since Canada’s Asian Carp program began in 2012.
