Yes, we've had many discussions, this past year, at the FMZ20 Council. We worked hard to make the proposal presentable and with any luck it gets implemented January 1st, 2025. It all takes time, I guess.

what happens if your fish dies that is out of season? or is catch and release only? are you supposed to keep it or throw it back even if it's going to die?

Gotta send it back regardless.
I see why they do it that way, way too many fish would be "badly hooked" if they let you keep ones that you felt were going to die.

I am confused. Are they proposing you can take photos and measure species like bass that now have a spring catch and release season until may 10th but will still have to immediately release species caught out of season by accident?

Yes, immediately has to be released.
