I went and looked at a 15yr old fiberglass "walleye" style boat. I've been watching the used market for a while. Full disclosure, I've never owned a fiberglass walleye boat or even had a ride in one. But I know I want one lol. And with the new ones $150k+++, Finding a good Used one is the only way I'm going to get one. Reason for this post is does anyone have any advice on less obvious things to look for. I've done hours of google searches, I know to check the transom, gel coat, floors, make sure the wiring isn't a disaster. My plan is to request a marine survey and have the outboard fully gone over. It has a optimax 225 pxs on it with higher hours. So full compression testing etc. I'm a bit hesitant in buying a boat this age but at the same time I think its a good boat. and I am not apposed to repowering it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

You are already on the right track with the survey and engine check. Some insurance companies make them mandatory once a boat becomes of a certain age just can't remember if it is 15 or 20 yrs old. Good luck.

Not much more you can do than what you’ve already mentioned.
