Hey, are you familiar with fishing the Detroit River in the spring? When I crossed over the Ambassador Bridge last spring on my way to caving in Kentucky, I counted hundreds of boats! It was incredible - boats everywhere!

Is there a good website anywhere where we can read up on the fishing there? It's gotta be pretty awesome with so much traffic!

Cheers,
Pete

pete i am very familiar with fishing on the detroit river in the spring and fall . fishing in the spring is incredable there ar many professional tourneys held on the river.there are hundreds of boats all over the river fishing each weekend. there is a lot of area to fish from the mouth of lake erie to the mouth of lake st clair. fishing usually starts soon as ice is gone and is excellent until beginning of june . a good site to get info on is walleyecentral .com. if you need any other info contact me i will be happy to help you out .

Right on! Maybe we can "trade a trip" sometime. My dad and I are heading to Quinte either Thursday or Friday, depending on the winds. We always have room for one more. You should come, and we'll hook up with you in the spring in Dee-troyt.

Pete, I usually try to list an updated report at
http://www.chartertalk.com

During the spring lots of fishing as you have seen is done on the river.
Here is a list of some of the things you will need for jigging the 'River.

6'med action rod
8# Fireline (flame green)
jigs and more jigs
an assortment of plasctics, Berkley power minnows, FINS 4" minnows and 4" plastic worms, brown, purple or camo.

And a good Minn Kota to keep your line vertical.

Cool, thanks! I'll look you up as the times approach. I am caving at Mammoth Cave over US Thanksgiving so not sure if I'll be around Quinte when you are.

But I'll be there this week with any luck....
