Went fishing up at Madoc, last week getting lots of walleye in morning bite, but small in size keeping 1 1/2-2 lbs. Why I'm writing this, on New Year's day went out with my brothers, there were 2 holes in the ice and all around these holes were at least a 100 dead perch all over. Did some investigating and found out that some cottagers were the ones that did this. I find this very disturbing, we all hate catching the thieves of minnows but this was a massacre. My buddy and me make a trough (holding tank) in the ice, put water in and keep them til we are done then put them back. I feel that perch being low on the totem pole helps feed these walleye as well as minnows, I find that with the problems in the Bay of Quinte, people would have an understanding of these resources. On days like these its hard to feel like a good ice-fisherman.

Heading to Moira Lake.Any recent reports on fishing for walleye? Is it worth the drive and is anything else biting? Been checking out Bay of Quinte can't find any decent ice. What are limits for perch and is there a slot on walleyes? How about pike fishing, anything?

Haven't been up there in a week, I hear the bite is slow. While fishing last week a 13 lb. pike and hammerhandles were caught. I heard a couple guys pulled a couple of muskies through the ice. The perch are really small, have to catch a bucket full to get a taste. Going out the 13 & 14 of Jan. let you know.

was at moira yesterday, we caught five walleyes all about three quarters of a pound and my buddy lost one that looked half decent and i missed a solid hit we also caught a ton of small perch, quite a few fish but nothing to brag about, the other guys around us all caught no walleyes that was up to about 6:30pm. good luck
