Drove up on Thursday in torrential rain. Fished on Friday in 40 - 50 click winds, rain and no fish. My fault I think because I should have trolled at 1.5 mph instead of a little faster. One lake trout about 6 pounds near the cement plant, that was a first! Walleye skunked again on Saturday, but my buddies nailed 6.....trolling at a slower speed. Today we had three before we hit the road, 6, 11.5 and 12.8.......one camera left in the truck, two sets of dead batteries in the boat camera.....duh! My buddies also caught three this morning and one was a PIG......great job Rick, when you send me the picture I will try to upload it here.

One problem out there guys.....what is it with the 30 metre planer board lines out both sides of the boat in a congested corridor? Some really dumb, inconsiderate skippers if you ask me. My buddies had terrible tangles with two boats who crossed their lines when they were too close. We had a boat that tracked us for 45 minutes like glue and almost ran over our boards, and then another small boat cut us off and left their boards in front of us! When we had to take evasive action the 'shadows' hurled profanity in our direction. Unbelievable!

Shaun and the Waterdown boys, great to meet you. Love the way you dressed down that trailer Shaun!

Leon, sorry we could not hook up, next time!

Water temp is over 44 deg, lots of time left for the lucky ones!

Who the hell cut you off? It's OK to name names - maybe it will make those guys think a bit next time.

Man, I will never forget the time in Grimsby Harbour when some @sshole charterboat skipper ran over our flatlines with his big-ass boat, hooked my lure under his boat, and then spooled me! I lost all the line off my reel! Fortunately, I had a backup rod and reel. The aggravating part is that the jerks on the boat yelled at us!

I tell you, I'm glad I'm a self-unemployed deadbeat - weekdays only fer me and my dad. Glad you got a few decent-sized ones, anyway. Anything on Saturday? Hot lures, depths?

I hear you on the bad manners. I was out yesterday (won't do a weekend outing again) and even though I stayed away from the packs, I had several boats troll across my path without deviating one bit, as if I were invisible. I don't mind sharing the water but it seemed as if I was the only one trying to avoid an incident. Not sure if it because there is more testosterone flowing in those with bigger boats..........very frustrating. Mitch

It's happend to me also. The only problem is, everyone thinks there trolling strait and the other guy is wrong  . Guys using plainners, should try and avoid the packs  . Thats why I try and go week days, less people  . As fisherman, we have to get along. It's a big lake.

You guys are absolutley rite. I don't know if some people are just plain stupid
or oblivious to enery one else or just ignorant. Long planer board lines are not necessary. There is a lot of water out there!! Why crowd every one else??
Why follow a boat thats not catching fish.!!!!!

Wait until next weekend!!!!! 8O 8O 8O

Sounds like a good weekend on the water. Some guys are really inconsiderate on the water. A little bit of common sense goes a long ways out there.

Thanks for the report.
