Well this weekend was worth the long wait.
We started off around 7:30am the bite turned on around 8am.First eye of the day flat lining with a williams spoon purple and a 1 oz clip weight 40 ft ahead of the spoon 9.9 walleye to start .I put the spoon back out and noticed the plainer board pulling back of the boat but not alot.I decide to see whats there a little shaker 5.6. I reset the board but by now I am sweating heavily my new survival suit was worth the investment very little layers under but very warm .As I am taking off my pullover.The board went off again.This time I tied my personal best from last year 11.8.
The last 2 eyes caught on strechmann 20's watermelon.3 fish all in 45 minutes.After that the bite turned off.all fish caught after the ferry towards lake Ontario. Lots of boats Saturday I think which slowed down the fishing.Lots of close calls with the boards.Sometimes within a few feet of almost catching the other.Some folks asleep at the wheel. I stuck it out with my friend Kenny until 5pm.I said to Ken at five we call it a day.So we are still trolling and just before 5 I start putting away everything pliers the works etc.....Exactly 5pm the outer board goes off and this was a great way to finish the day 11.4. 4 for 4.This one caught on a Yozuri Hydro Minnow light white fire tiger with the red belley.This is a 7 inch Muskie lure.Unfortuanately my fishing partner lost a nice one right at the boat the Manns strectmann 20 came off.Blueberry Muffin was on.Stayed at Merlands and as usual Kevin came out and found some time to chat with us.Always a great stay at Merlands.I have never seen the boat slips so full.I think they are going to need some more docks.I spoke to alot of folks at Merlands some were doing well and some nothing.Those who were not using plainer boards were not catching much.If you don't have boards make the investment they are worth it.Well I will send some pics this week.Mi
