Well, Joanne and I made it up this weekend for some Fall fishing and the weather was co-operative.

. Saturday we fished from 9:30 - 4:00 and managed this 9.1 lber on a Mann's +20 in Clown. The same lure I caught almost all of mine on last fall. Released after a couple of quick pics.

Sunday we fished from 10 - 3 and all we did was wash lures all day :evil:

Both days we saw quite a number of fish landed and released. Wasn't too cold by fall standards, which is why I let Joanne wear my survival suit! The Black Cat Heater with the top and windows up didn't hurt either. :wink:

Well, I'll be up at Merland's with Superdad and Laker John this weekend so see you all out there.

Nope not me. I didn't get tangled with anyone, although it's a miracle that we didn't. I started out at the ferry all by ourselves only to have 3 boats come in a few minutes later and box us in. One in front, one beside, one behind and the wall on the other side. The one mishap we did have was some genious thought it would be a great idea to make a turn directly in front of our boat with maybe 30 or 40 feet in front of us only to get snagged and then stop directly in our path and then we had to reel everything up real quick.

Anyways, it's like another poster said everybody thinks they're doing nothing wrong and it's always the other guy. So unless you were actually there maybe you should direct your diatribe and accusations somewhere else. If you notice, I caught my fish away from the pack....at least until a bunch of 'em saw me holding it up for a pic.

Oh yes, you're the same guy that said Passthepitons Pete was taken off the water for illegal fishing or poaching, so I'll take what you say with a grain of salt. While Pete may be somewhat opinionated, I do know that he wouldn't be nailed for illegal fishing. In any case, you've made a grand total of 3 posts and had one deleted by the admin so I'm not sure what your purpose in life is but I think you should probably go get one or take your own.

Well my oriental brother of kung fo fame,it looks like you have made an enemy the rice rocket is not safe anymore so the model should stay tite to the fatman.Anyway nice post brother wish I could be there to watch the action new knee holding me back this year your money is safe good luck this weekend and give my love to Jo later Fatman

Hey brother, nice to hear from you. Hope the surgery went well. Jo's first surgery went well. Just waiting for the appointment to remove 2 more broken pieces of her spine. Anyways, idiots making threats over the internet where their IP addresses are easily obtained by the police make me laugh. He's probably one of those idiots that get caught on that show where cops pretend to be teenagers to catch pedophiles. Anywho, we'll have to hook up over the winter. Give my love to Paula and talk to you soon.

Nice fish and excellent report... you've put in the time and effort and have been rewarded by the Walleye Gods... Congrats.
If I may make a suggestion... the weight scale/fish gripper your using in the pics can and will damage the fish, if you hold the fish only by the gripper! Especially the double digit fish. Their spine is not designed to hold verticle pressure and you can/will damage the fish's spine and it will die. I know we all want to get a weight on our fish, but I also know that your a catch and release fishernman, so I'm assuming you don't want to harm the fish anymore than necessary. I do see your hand holding the tail of the fish and again, I'm not trying to come down on you at all, just trying to help some of the less experienced people reading this post!

Thanks. Good point. I have previously thought of using a big laundry soap pail and weighing it and subtracting it's weight from the total but didn't have one handy. Maybe I'll have to pick up one of those nets with the built in scale (X-mas present to myself!). Anyways, hope to have a few to weigh over double digits this weekend.

I've found that I weigh less and less fish every year as I'm really only weighing fish that may approach my PB... don't even bother weighing them otherwise. I'm sure most of us here are pretty good at making the determination on size based on experieince. And really does it matter what it weighs, as long as you had fun catching it?

The two handed support hold for a quick pic is the best way I can think of to help ensure a successful catch and release. Actually, I won't even get the camera ready unless I know it's a big fish (we've all got pics of big fish, how many more do we need?)

Keep up the good work! And again, I'm NOT singeling out anyone here, just hoping to help educate anyone who doesn't already know or was not sure!

A suggestion; weigh your net wet and keep this weight. Now weigh the fish in the net and subtract the wet net weight for the fish weight.

Actually, someone pm'd me an excellent suggestion. Next time I'm at Ikea I'm gonna pick up one of their bags...maybe two. Weigh the fish in there and they can also double as drift socks.
