I'm on a mission, I'm goin' fishin'! Can't even wait to post! We're gonna kill 'em! [I hope]

Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! So how many hits will this post get before we even hit the water tomorrow morning?

Watch for us - 17' grey Tracker 60 HP Johnson with an ancient circa-1950 green Eaton's Viking kicker motor, me in full orange lard-ass suit, friend in yellow jacket only.

Pitter, patter, let's get at 'er! Woo-hoooooo!!!

Note: If you are reading this from work, nyah nyah.....

OK you had me look

And I am guessing you don't literally mean "We're gonna kill 'em!"

Best of luck let us all know!

Well, they say that "a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work...."

Don't they? Who the hell are "they", anyway? Sheesh.

I am embarrassed to report we caught only two - nothin' and screw all. There were 20 or 25 boats east of the ferry, perfect day, you would think perfect winds, nice chop, yet we saw very few nets over the side. If I saw five fish come onboard all the boats nearby I would be surprised. Those fish that I saw were around noon when we first arrived, after that pretty much nothing. We threw everything at every speed and depth, but still not a hit.

At 5pm, the OPP launched on the east side of the ferry, and in moments appeared to visit every single boat on the water with their huge and incredibly fast cop boat. After fiddling unsuccessfully with the "all round light" post [the white one on the stick on the back of our boat] I had to conclude that the bulb was burned out. The cops said we had best git off the water immediately, or face a $130 fine, so we blasted.

"Now we're not trolling back, are we?" said the cop.

"Nope, I get it - we're heading straight back." So we definitely appreciated not being given a ticket! They seemed like decent chaps, anyway.

I wonder if it was "too nice" of a day? Was the weather too warm? Would fighting the rain today be better? Will the fishing turn on just as the cold front arrives like you would expect? Will tomorrow be a crappy post-cold-front day? How will the weekend be?

Stay tuned, and write those reports, eh?

Cheers,
Pete

P.S. Compared to Mike Borger, I can't catch fish worth a damn! That guy is without doubt the best fisherman I have ever met. Mike can catch fish out of a toilet! I can count the number of times I have outfished him on about one or two fingers.
