I'll be headin up this Saturday to Wednesday. Naturally, we'll be going for the big eyes. However, was thinking of doing some perchin? I guess I'll see how the walleye bite is whether I decide to try for perch or not? But, as unlikely as this is, anyone have any ideas where the perch might be? I have heard that the minnow pop in picton harbour has been next to nothing? Just a wild stab as the likelyhood of me actually perchin this time of year at boq is slim, but just in case. And naturally, I'll post some pics should I have the pleasure of catching fish.

........... I fished Picton harbor last night. there was a ton of small minows around the lighted docks. even cought a 8 inch shad on a #14 rapala ..... fished From dark til around 8:30 only saw a few fishermen and no one was catching fish so either the bite is later in the night, or they just wernt in yet ........ i did feel a few small bumps on my lure........... but nothing stuck. i remember last year at this time the hits were very light.... even the 8 and 9 pound fish i cought hit like a sunfish ........... but there was bait fish around so the time is neer............. if yer looking for perch and going out of picton harbor ive done quite well in the past just outside the harbor to the left side past the markers big weed bed there in the summer so about 100 yards off shore always worked well for me! if your stuck to shore or on the docks your guess is as good as anyones . happy fishing

Hey Tech,
We gave jigging a shot over at thompson point this past weekend. We were looking for eyes but didnt have much luck(one about 4lbs came unbuttoned at the side of the boat). We did catch a bunch of jumbo perch using spoons and jigs with minnows. The perch were in the 20-15ft depth. Good Luck
Dan

We were at Quinte last week and going out of the harbor at Picton there were a couple of old guys catching perch off the north shore just a couple hundred yards from the launch. They were sitting on a dock having a good time with the perch.
