So lets here it... When do you guys think we will have ice?
I do not have enough early ice experience to really have an opinion.

i guess it depends where?

last year, i believe it was december 20th (or within a day or two) that the bay(s) froze....haybay, bigbay, etc.

it was about december 22nd or so when it froze beyond adolphustown, and up to the Lighthouse.

this year i'm thinking it'll be about five or so days later for everything....

I will finally get "one for the wall" (13+ #). This will be my third or fourth trip up to fish the last week of season (end of February). Have nabbed quite a few fish but biggest is still only 10 1/2#. The big freeze is coming, as long as there is safe ice for the end of February.

Typically, one can bank on the fishing being hot, about a day after I have flown back to work at Christmas.

Same here.. Well not quite as far. The ice would come and go last year around the weekends I would visit my parents. :-(

I think if we get a good cold spell you might get on the bay the first wee of Jan. Remember other lakes!! Moira is usually frozen before the bay. Gives
you a chance to shake off that cabin fever :D :D

Holy frig, the 14-day forecast is for way warm temperatures! We'll be fishing out of our boats right into the New Year if this stuff keeps up! Woo-hooo!
