Hey all,
My cousin and I ventured out both days on the weekend. You can either think of us as dedicated or just plain crazy. Sat morn we launched just before the sun came up. We headed from Deseronto to Long Reach. I was driving and got soaked as the spray blew back over the boat. I had some ice build up on my pants. Once into the reach it wasn't that bad. We made it to Thompsons point and the rollers weren't too bad.
As the hours went on they got worse though. According to the weather network the opposite was supposed to happen but oh well. I finally hooked a smaller fish (about 3 lbs) on a purple (flakey doctor) spoonbill super rogue. After that fish, we pulled of the point because of the winds. We headed back to Catalaque shoal. We had a few hits and lost one fish. We marked quite a few fish around the shoal. Winds got pretty bad even in the reach so we called it a day.
Next morning we had a bit of a late start. My head was a tad bit sore from the night before. (xbox and beer)
We tried Thompsons and the shoal but got skunked. Winds weren't as bad sunday.
This sunday looks like it might be a decent day to hit the water again. I guess we'll see.
Keep ya posted
