With this weather we just had to getout, especially with these last reports.
Headed to Picton and out to the ferry. Went 5 for 5. Range between 5 and
10 lbs. Most fish seemed to be high, but caught one deep. Winds came up
and headed to picton and got one inside. Hi to Mux and the boys.
All in all a good day. Just made it off before the rain. :D :D :D

Leon, good job! Oh to be a local up there, I would not have a job, or a wife, but I would likely be happy! Is that it for you or is there another trip left yet? Have yourself a great Christmas! Maybe you and Dan can come down at Easter to fish the Bar for lakers.

Cheers, Neil.

Having avoided most of each for some time, I assure you the lifestyle has its merits.

Nice job, Iceman! I will definitely get out one or two more times. Woo-hoo! Merry Christmas!

[I would not have a job, or a wife, but I would likely be happy!]

I can't beleive what I am reading here! Is this what the sport of fishing has been reduced to? Fishing is supposed to be a gentleman's sport. A sport that combines nature and being with loved ones. What I have been reading here of late puts sport fishing in the same catagory as crack addiction and problem gambling. It seems that for some fishing has become a preoccupation and an obsession rather than the gentleman's sport that Sir Issac Newton had portrayed it to be. Fishing should be categorized as a past-time and not an actual sport. Much like the game of golf. There is nothing physically demanding or beneficial to your health in trying to catch fish. It would help us all if we spent more time exercising. Fishing is nothing more than a way to relax and become one with nature. Yes, it is an enjoyable way to relax and thats about all it should mean. Running around on small water craft in rouge wave weather with the dilusion that a floater suit will help you survive if you end up in the water is foolhardy. It's no wonder the patrol boats give people such a hard time when they are out fishing this time of
year. Fishing this time of year is an instrument of death due to the frigid temperatures. Have a wonderful Christmas and stay home until the water temperature get to be about 15C. When you risk your life you are also risking the life of others who must try to rescue you when something goes wrong.
Like Niel says, being a local has it's advantages. Being here helps choose your time easier. We also have the rite equipment and saftey gear.
Having a understanding wife helps the marriage a lot. If the weather holds, who knows.
A Merry Christmas to all. :D :D Stanley, there could be worse things to be addicted too !!!!

Hey Stanley, that was a joke you know, my wife is totally awesome, that is why I get to fish Quinte in the Fall! As for waiting to fish until it is 15 deg, not a chance, I would miss too much good action and I like it when there are fewer boats around. Have yourself a good holiday!

Leon & Dan

nice work! Even the Bay was in the spirit of giving this week. How'd Mux and the boys do?

Stanley 20 fter, sounds like you're a fair weather fisherman. The weather right now isn't much worse than the month of May on the opener. Granted there are the odd people out there that go out in conditions where even the Essroc tanker from the cement plant shouldn't be out, but those people are few and far between. If you use your head and don't put yourself in situations where you actually NEED your survival suit then the main thing it becomes useful for is warmth. Thanks for the "concern" in any case and Merry X-mas.

Ken

Hey Stanley, you are obviously find no enjoymnet in fishing so why do you frequent this fishing board with anti fishing comments, have seen several of your posts, always crtical of anyone who expresses any pleasure from this hobby. Sure don't get what ever point you are trying to make, except to slam anyone who says they enjoy fishing, personally I enjoy my time fishing, I enjoy sharing my love for this hobby with others of similar mind and most importantly my wife encourages me to go fishing as she appreciates how much I enjoy my time ont he water.

Life is too short to criticize and judge others, maybe you should find a discussion board more suited to your hobbies, hey I don't care for figure skating, myabe I should should search out a discussion board for that and go on there and criticize anyone there who expresses a love for that sport, or better yet tell them what I think they should be doing instead of pursuing what they love....................

Your comments make no sense to me at all, you need to live and let live, life is too short to try and mold others into your image.

Merry Christmas all, just think I may go steelheading today.

Pugsli

My body would beg to differ on not facing any physical demand after a few days at the bay or any other excursion for that matter ...Chilly,beer,vodka and very little sleep often give the toughest of us pastime anglers a work out...
As for the nothing healthy part, I would say sanity, fresh air, comradery and getting the hell away from the everyday BS that a lot of us faces most days is extremely healthy....Although I don't hit the links to much anymore and I am not a huge golf fan, I will say that "like fishing, it's one activity that a person can always, always do better..You can only beat yourself." Sounds a bit sporting to me anyway..
