Don't know why we continue to go out on Boxing Day!?!? We went to Basspro first and that was a complete waste of time and money. Bought a bunch of stuff cuz I got a $100 giftcard from my daughter but the parking was HORRENDOUS! 45 minutes to find a spot even with Joanne's handicap sticker. Mind you, there were at least 3 cars we saw with NO sticker! Ignorant Ba$tards. We ended up parking on the sidewalk like everyone else after 45 minutes. Took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to get out of the mall's parking lot! After all that hassle, all the items we bought were all regular priced items

Then we went to LeBaron's in Markham. No problems with parking and it was like any other weekend in there. No huge crowds and they had everything I went there for. I will be returning a bunch of the stuff I got at Basspro cuz I'll be saving about $50. The Daiwa linecounter was $20 cheaper PLUS no tax, so about $40 savings. The Humminbird PC cord was $5 plus tax cheaper. Anyways, got LOTS of new toys to play with

- new Daiwa baitcaster combo
- new Quantum linecounter combo
- new Daiwa SG LCA17 linecounter
various other fishing related goodies, woo hoo!
Hope you all got what you were looking/asking for this X-mas/Boxing Day

Happy Boxing Day everyone :!:

Hey Pete,

you're probably right judging by the forecast for the remainder of the week. Hopefully it's not cold enough over the next few days to cause problems at the launch. Good luck tomorrow. Damn, I knew I shouldn't have volunteered to work this week. :?

cheers
Ken

Other than the fact that Bass Pro Shops has a very wide selection and SOME items seem like a good deal just watch and compare prices. I have seen several examples of items at BPS that are significantly higher priced than they are at other places like LeBaron or even Cdn Tire. As an example I bought my wife a pair of high end hiking socks for Xmas, paid $23.95 for them, then on my way home I stoppe din at LeBaron in Mississauga and saw the exact same pair of socks at regular price for $16.95. This is only one example of several I have seen where they jack up pricing on brand name stuff and their own brands look low priced, quite a rip off place for most things in my opinion, just the convenience of having such a wide selection.

I guess like they the old saying Goes,

It's not worth the drive to BPS.

I don't like gist certificates either, give me the cash !!!!!!!!!!!

From this area it's better to wait until spring and go to Gander Mountain. :) :)
