Was out to Hay Bay on Saturday the 10th to drop the ice fishing gear off at the trailer and to have a look around.
Lots of snow this as opposed to last year when we could drive to the front door - not this year!
Headed towards Shermans Ramp and noted the number of shacks and fishers over on the south side to the west of the Old Church Ramp. This group extended out to the centre of the Bay.
Closer to Shermans Ramp there a dozen or so some 200 yds off shore, with a couple of trucks parked about 50 yds from the ramp.
Off in the distance, we could see people fishing the drop offs over by Thompsons and there were some people fishing at Shermans.
There were a number of vehicles parked at the bottom of Huffs Road and there were a bunch of shacks/fishers to the north of Forresters Is close to Desronto shore.
People were pulling into the Dew Drop In and they looked like they were after minnows as they had an ATV on the back of their truck.
It was a nice day with the temp around minus 4 BUT there was a serious wind from the West and the forecast says more west winds for the next three days.
Hope the fish are still biting.
Stay Tuned.
