There is no confusion if you read the regs. The fish sanctuarys are at the mouth of rivers and creeks ect. Also they are not sanctuarys untill April 1st.I fish perch untill ice out and then I will be in the boat for more of the best panfish action of the year.I will bet you a six pack that I will not catch a walleye the whole time I am fishing panfish.I am starting to get offened when guys can't be bothered to read the regs. and then make comments on how what some of us have been doing since we were kids is some how wrong or not the best for the fishery.I will repeat in 20 years I have not ever caght a walleye will fishing for late ice or ice out perch.

I posted a link to the regs please read them.

Hey duber. i sure didnt mean to or try to offend you in anyway........ im just cerious because the way i read it in the regs . and trust me. ive read the regs frontwords, and backwords being from out of your country knowing the rules is a MUST.............. and since i dont have a copy of the regs, here in the states i cant quote you the pages but if i remember correctly its noted in the exceptions part in the rules, and regs booklet.
I did try to open the link you sent but it didnt work. maybe i just have a yankee computer lol ............. but next week when im back up there i will find the page and quot you directly from it word for word . ive read it, and even showed it to a few canadian friends up there who couldnt make heads no tailes of it witch made me feel good thinking im not the only dumb yankee to read but not understand .
it also states as i have mentioned east and westlake in the same exception so im assumming you cant pan fish there either??? . trust me i think its kinda silly myself............... we also close down the streems here too mostly so the trout can run early and not be herrassed and i do agree with that law as most fishermen probly do or should ............
Once again i did not try to offend you bud,,,,,,,,, and i do thank you for your imput. i think thats what this board is all about. when i have regs in my hand ill quote you from the booklet , but im sure you do have one all i have is 3 years of reading it, and still not quite understanding it lol ...... but then again you have to admit they usually have there heads in the wrong places when they type that crap and leave a loophole you could drive a mac truck thru. try telling that to the judge eh lol.

Frenchman Bay, Hamilton Harbour and all tributaries of Lake Ontario.

Lake Ontario - all waters in Division 8 lying east of Chub Point [east of Longitude 78̊00'W.]which is just west of Shelter Valley Creek - Haldimand Twp. (I believe this link covers the rule to do with the slot now) http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/csb/news/2 ... nr_05.html

mr.wallhi,
You can't target walleye after the season closes even if you plan on releasing. If you are fishing something else and you start catching walleye you must move.I asked a mnr friend of mine about that and he said it depends on the officer but if you catch one out of season fish while fishing something that is in season, chalk that up to chance. If you catch 2 out of season fish it is time to move on.

hope this helps.

slug,

Someday I hope to take you up on that  Maybe you should come down for some late ice perch action.
