Caught between the hard water and the opener of walleye in May is the worst time of year :x
So whats everyone gonna do with the idle time before we get the boats back out?
I`m taking the wife to Mexico for the first trip in 15yrs and will be perusing(sp) tackle shops when ever I get the chance to see whats new and pick up what I think I need for summer.
Atleast I have the kids play-off hockey left that will make the time fly :D
I`ll still check back here to see if anyone has been perch fishin`
teppy

Good luck guys.
Splake is open all year on the lake my cottage is on. Have only been back once this year but tried for brookies instead. I usually hit the splake at ice out when they're still cruising the shoreline.

Well, a few lakes i fish end on the 31st of march, and they typically have lots of ice until then. Then there is the mudcats/crappie in april followed by turkey hunting . . . lots of ways to stay occupied! :)

Yes there are other places to fish ond chores to do.

No won mentioned going over your tackle for the open water season. Now is a good time to oil your reels, repair rods and put on fresh line. Why do so many people wait until the day before going out. Also make a list of things to do to the boat. Some thing can be done now. Oh for the guy at the launch ramp whose engine won't start. :) :) :)
