Took the vex for a walk today and located some really active walleyes .They were hitting on the spoon and also a jig head .By using 2 rods at the same time they would one or the other .Some times the walleyes will come to the spoon and not hit it and will take the jig , thats were the vex comes in you can see this happen down there .And yes batman you can tell what a perch is and a walleye and a school of bait fish are after you use a vex for a bit .

There is no way in *** that you can tell if it is a walleye perch pike or any other kind of fish when the VEX shows there is one below your hole. You can surmize that it is a walleye because of the area you are fishing.

If you have an Vexilar FL18 with the auto zoom on you can tell what kind of fish it is. I was up on Nippissing and could easily tell the difference from a perch to a walleye to a herring just by there actions, the size of the mark and how high you could get them to come off bottom. Dont' know about a pike and a walleye but perch and walleye are not a problem an a 18 .I guarantee it.

Well,

We know he (Dicky ) has an Fl-8 that does not have the zoom
feature. I have the Fl-18 with the dual 9 and 19 degree
switched transducer. You can draw perch up from the
bottom by pull your jig up slowly. It's really hard to tell
if your on Walleyes until you start catching them.

Dicky if you just stopped taking about the Vex so much
people wouldn't dis you. It really is annoying.

As you can see I'm not the only one that thinks so. 8)
