adding a fish finder screen

I have a eagle fishfinder mounted on my dash, can i mount another (and can it be a different brand) on my casting deck and wire it into the same transduser. Any feedback would be helpful. Thank-you.

I think you would need to get the same brand that uses the same type of transducer and use a switch to toggle between the two units. I don't know if you could use them both at the same time unless they were networked.

I just purchased a switch to use two transducers for one unit and it cost $120. You may be better off to just purchase a new unit and mount the transducer at the front that way you will get the benefit of knowing the depth at bow & stern...finding that nice drop off and staying on top of it. Hope this helps.

I don't see any benefit to running two off the same transducer. Remember that the transducer works off a cone signal directly below it, so if you are using a front mounted screen, off the rear transducer, you are 16 to 18 feet away from the topography that the transducer is reading.

There's three or four great systems in the fifty dollar range for mounting your forward transducer as well as clips for mounting on your bowmount trolling motor. I have a little clamp on mount that has vertical adjustment so I can place it at my feet when I'm on the forward casting deck, great for holding your position.

Easy answer is no. Different manufacturers have different operating frequencies for their units. There is bit of overlap, but the signal in that case is not quite as good. Your best bet is to get another Eagle and just install it. It will come with a transducer and you'll be set.
