I don't see any benefit to running two off the same transducer. Remember that the transducer works off a cone signal directly below it, so if you are using a front mounted screen, off the rear transducer, you are 16 to 18 feet away from the topography that the transducer is reading.
There's three or four great systems in the fifty dollar range for mounting your forward transducer as well as clips for mounting on your bowmount trolling motor. I have a little clamp on mount that has vertical adjustment so I can place it at my feet when I'm on the forward casting deck, great for holding your position.
