Dead fish dumping

I heard that there were dead fish dumped in the Corbville area. Any update about this?

There have been 2 known incidents of fish dumping in Belleville. The first was last week with about 50 pickerel dumped behing the Inn in Corbyville and more dumped yesterday on Airport Parkway. In both cases the fish had a small thin stip of meat cut from them. Its a shame. Tom

WHERE THE HECK IS THE MNR! I watched some brutal spearing display last night, total lack of respect for the fishery and the tradition these people say they are following.
Watched at least 8 12 pounders pulled from the river. The one guy offers me a big one for free, which I would never take, even if I caught it legally. Then the one guy tells me the big ones are what make them GOOD $$$$, I said o ya that's good..... if I was MNR Officier what would Happen?????????? See it and want to report it call the #, I've called it a couple times and nothing happened so I dont know how useful these #'s are! I'am ashamed by what I saw last night and especially by this dumping issue. We all gotta keep an eye open for these dum-asses!

I hate when they spear them and sell them. I no its there right to spear them but they shouldn't be able to sell them.

That's the people I refered to before. Spearing 50, 100, 200 fish at 1 time, who eats? freezes? that many fish? I caught over 40 fish ice fishing this winter, kept 4 fish 1-2 pounders. I have had 3 meals and still have lots in my freezer. I believe there is a business in spearing walleye, NOT ALL PEOPLE DO, but a few to spoil the batch! and these people give the good honest people a bad rep. The business men need to be handled with, if the MNR cares.

I agree with ya Jutty cant blame all of them. I have witnessed the ones that respect it and it's very neat to see how they do it. Those guys last night were around 20 and Im finding the younger guys abuse it. Im the same way I even told these guys I catch my legal limits when the time comes, they respond with not as good as this (COCKY BASTARDS!). SO I just say doubt that, I can at least release my bigguns. Thats when they started talking about selling em. And I doubt the MNR will do anything with all the BS that is going on out near Deseronto..... it's like are Government just gives into every demand they have. It's just not HUMANE! It's a disgrace!

fisherboy it is not legal for them to sell the speared walleye's. And if you are going to call law enforcement call the Crimestoppers number. There arrests made every year at restaurants and fish wholesalers, where speared, illegal walleye are for sale. This isn't new this year and law enforcement does do what they can. The C.O.'s aren't going to be able to watch everyone.

With less than 200 COs remaining in Ontario, and none with enough funding for a tank of gas per week without running a bake sale, you bet the COs cant watch everyone! They are pretty much a non-factor anymore. Im not even sure why people bother with a license. It would be cheaper to get a fine every 20 or 30 years.

Set them up. Get a buddy to discretely film you and go and buy some fish from them. Make sure the transaction is caught on tape. Then call crime stopper's, MNR etc.

It is their right to spear the spawning walleye, not their right to do it for prophet.

You would most likely find youself getting in more trouble for purchasing the fish then the seller would for selling it.

Let the police/CO's deal with it.
