Like a kid before christmas? I can hardly function at work always trying to think of what I need to do in order to get ready for the opener. Looking for last minute upgrades, praying everyday that the weather sorts itself out in time.

Just giddy and restless with only 18 more sleeps to go.

Wow, I'll agree to that!

All I can think of is fishing....it's driving my girfriend nuts

I've changed tackle boxes, lubed my fishing reels and mentally gone over everything I need.

Now all I need is the changing of the dates.

Cheers

Yes Maverick we're all thinking about the opener.

Just have to retrieve the boat from the shop, do some light maintenance, load the gear into the boat, load the tackle and rods and wait for a NICE sunny day to try her out on the Big Lake.

Then the trailer has to be cleaned and the florida room emptied of gas tanks, BBQ's, lawn furniture and store the winter fishing gear.

Haven't counted the sleeps yet as there's too much to get done before the 5th of May.

Yes it is a very exciting time of year, Turkey season is just around the bend as well as the Walleye opener. I find myself running around like a chicken with my head cut off getting prepared for both. The weather has made this an even more interesting adventure, as it has made patterning a shotgun a miserable task. Not to mention scouting. I am looking forward to some more comfortable weather, hopefully soon. 8)

With the weather warming this weekend the itch is really going to be bothersome.

How many days?...17 by my count.

I get like that before most of the openers (walleye, turkey, waterfowl, & deer seasons especially).

My wife just doesn't understand but I always tell her how many days it is and that I don't think its ever going to come. The last few days feel like weeks. The night before an opener I very rarely sleep. I usually toss and turn wake up every five minutes then get up and go watch fishing or hunting videos until its time to go out.

I love that the sport can get me this excited. I have two young boys and I'm very excited about being able to share my joy with them. I think I will take my three year old out for abit this opener and we have been talking about it.

Last night we went out to check for worms and he had a blast trying to catch a dew worm    !! It was quite a sight to see. This morning he says to me "I'm super fast like the worms!!""  Can't wait this for April 25th or May 5th. This year will be even better as I'm going out in my first brand new boat!!!!

Scouting for turkeys?

Just drove past Fort Henry....there's one there being a nuisance and needing an attitude adjustment or oven

It's been attacking cars, bikes and now joggers. 8O

Cheers
