Just wondering if anybody has been out for crappie?? Heard form a friend who lives on the bay that the water temp is reading around 49.5. They say that crappie will start to spawn around 50 so they should be on soon. Am going out on Sunday to try my luck and fire up the boat for the first time.
Cheers

I as well am looking for any info on the slabs, as I have come up with nothing on Sydenham Lake, Loughborough Lake and two others. They haven't been getting them at creek mouths and creek pools fattening up for the spawn either. But I have not been out for a few days though, work takes up too much time, there should be a law dang-it.

Fishn-Hunter, we're you out at Rays Crick? A guy I fish with has been
bugging me to go out there and said that he had heard they are on the bite.

I was out today and checked every creek and marsh form Deseronto to Napanee. I didn't see any panfish at all up shallow. Just pike, carp, channal cats and the odd dink bass. :(

We were up to the Trent on thurs and the crappies are on . We had a lot of smaller ones but there were a few slabs . Only found them in a couple places and they were not fast and furious yet . I am sure by now with the sun and warm temps. they will be on good this weekend .

Well I gave it an honest go today at one spot near Verona, seen lots of slabs big and small but I only cought a couple, they did not seem interested in any of my offerings. They were realy quite skiddish, as soon as my bait hit the water they scrambled like a bomb went off. I have not seen this behaviour to that extent before. If you casted well beyond the school and slowly pulled the bait toward the school I got the same reaction, but I stuck with it for most of the day thinking they might turn on but to no avail.
Any suggestions?

Was out today and never seen any panfish at all, not even any perch. Was talking to some commercial fisherman who were pulling up thier nets in Sawguin creek and they have not seen any yet. They said that they were just starting to see the perch come in. Saw them throwing away mudcats by the shovels full but they were all really small. Saw lots of carp and one bass that I would love to have in a tourney but that was all. Hopefully the weather stays consistant through the week and warms the water up so they will start coming in the shallows.

Any suggestions where one could go around the Kingston area, from shore?

Fish-hunter, you mentioned you went to a spot near Verona?

Cheers
