The New Yorkers were up for a week at Cedar Trees Resort. This was the best year of fishing that we have had in many years. We usually start on the flats and then migrate to Ram Island, Sherman's and Thompson's Points, cement plant, Picton, Glenora, Mohawk Bay, and beyond the big bridge. This year we never left the flats. We caught 41 walleyes and many northerns. Walleyes - 7 Tues, 7 Wed, 16 Thurs, 2 Fri, 11 Sat. We didn't fish as much as usual because we were catching more. Ate 14 Wed, went back out Thurs at 9:00 AM and were done at 11:15. Two of the guys went home Friday morning, leaving Oscar and I to eat down the pile of filets so we could catch some more. Went out Sat AM about 10:00 and had our limit at 11:25. Brought fish home for the wives for the first time in at least 10 years. Most of the fish were caught on Uzick's (thanks Superdad) and Dixie spinners. Primarily near the Southeast end in 6' -
6 1/2' just outside the weedbeds, trolling about 1.6 - 2 MPH, 1/8 oz weight. Heard the Pennsylvania dawgs on the radio, and they seemed to be doing well also. We met a few Canadiens at the campground and shared a couple of brews. I don't know as I've ever met friendlier people than in Southern Ontario. It makes it a joy to come up for a week, even if the fish are not biting so well. I would also like to thank Paul and Lisa for their hospitality. They run a beautiful campground there, and are also extremely friendly. I've been home about six hours and am already looking forward to next year's trip. Enough rambling I guess. Can't wait to get up there again. BTW, we did put quite a hurting on the Wilton Cheese Factory on the home.

Glad to hear you had a good time. Glad you helped out the folks at Wilton Cheese. There are good people every where.
See you next year. :) :? :?

Hi There Biggeorge,

Glad to hear that you did well at Hay Bay and the lures worked out.

First Rule of Fishing: "Don't leave fish to find fish" works all the time.

The flats have been paying off so far.

Tight Lines
