I just caught the tail end of news the other night but seen footage of
5 to 6 conservation officers lined up on Highway 48 south of Fenelon Falls. They had a RIDE like campaign set up and were stopping vehicles with boats hooked up.

They were checking live wells, fishing licenses, insurance etc.

Seen footage of some big "out of season" Bass, over limit on walleyes etc etc. They were seizing everything and hitting them with pretty hefty fines.

Good to them out there conducting blitzes like that.

Mac, dat you son?

Don't tell Snarfy about this, he's convinced that every aircraft in the sky is the Ministry looking for him.

Hey, two more weeks 'til we heads up to the West Arm. Glory Days. 8)

We were checked yesterday(Thursday) around 1300 at Shermans Pt for licenses and ALL the necessary boating items.

REMEMBER:

HAVE YOU BOAT REGISTRATION WITH YOU - if you don;t have it, GET IT, if yours hasn't been updated from previous owner DO IT.

You'll save a lot of grief.

Great to see the ministry out doing blitzes at popular fishing areas. They used to do blitzes in the Quinte area on long weekends. They would check every boat leaving napanee for highway 401.
It keeps everyone honest....larry

This sounds like great news. Any vehicles, boats seized? I am sure it must make for some interesting dinner conversation for any angler going home to their family.

My hat is off to the leadship who are driving this. It makes solid enforcement, budget sense given the resources currently available.

Is it really worth the risk to take home some out of season bass to eat?
I think it looks real good on them.

Hey Mux, I told you they were watching. keep your eyes open, they have been lurking in the shadows for sometime now and they know where we fish/live.
Good to see the law is pulling over and checking the catch limits for some who dont care about the season or type of fish being caught. pull over some of the cars that have been shore fishing to make it fair.

Hey Snarfy (like the name ) .....I agree with the car/truck check ! We usually leave our boat at the park & drive home with the truck only . We have taken eyes home with skin attached as required . CO's could record license plates of shore fishers in well known places & do a "cooler" check .
