Hey fellas just wondering how the action is on the BOQ. I heard a couple weeks ago things were pretty slow and the shad came in early this year. It has been weeks since I have been out and I have got the itch. I have been spending alot of time workin on my boat (adding stuff you know how it is lol) when not at work. So I thought I would take a break from it all and get out for a fish wed. evening with my dad. Have they still got lock jaw? Anything going on at thompsons, shermans or the church? My dad has not been well the last year or so and hasn't been fishing in a couple years but he has been feeling better the last few weeks so he is anxious to get out. A point in the right direction would help out alot and if inline spinners are workin or cc shads etc...
Anything would be very much apreciated.

Thick heavy weeds from 4-9 FOW with white spinner baits with a white grub worked well two weeks ago for me. Boated roughly 15 fish mixed bag of walleye (biggest was 26 inches) and largemouth (biggest 19 inches). All caught in the belleville area.

Well lets just say not had much time to post too busy fishing walleyes on BOQ.They are still biting you may have to do a little searching for them but they are around,They seem to be shallow and deep.I personely use only crank baits trolled and had much sucess.Last sunday went out @ 6:30 and had limit (for 2) 8 eyes in livewell by 9:20.Yes some a little on the small side but perfect if you had 4 to clean. Some people use erie dearies and worms,i don't have patience for that seems you catch anything under the sun.Fish hunter you are on the right track with cc shad i use this one when my lethel weapon isn't working.Try black and chrome cc shad if you have one.Wal-mart has rapala split body perch cranks i think model is JRS7 ?.They are a little on expensive side but you can't put a price on the smile on your Dads face when he gets one on.Hope this helps,KISS MY BASH FISHIN.

Thanks for the info guy's it is greatly apreciated, I have not had any time for fishing lately so I am way out of the loop, I think since beginning of june since I was out last and alot can change in that amount of time out there. I will give it a try hopefully next week.

Hey guys,
I'm new to the board, Quinte and Walleye fishing, so call me green, but you gotta start somewhere. My sister bought a place on HERCHIMER AVE, 2 blocks from the launch I'm told, so I'm keen to get out.

What is a cc shad? I assume it's a body bait, what size do you recommend, and is a slow troll the method and what speed?
I have riggers, but no boards.

What is the closest place to Herchimer to get tackle & bait?

Thanks,
Wayne

CC shad is made by cotton cordel and they only come in one size. And lucky for your sister to get a place that close, its a dream of mine to own shorefront property on the bay. (she isnt on shore, buts its damn close).

silver and blue and chartreuse and blue have worked for me this summer very well.

As well as white spinnerbaits tipped with white grubs

Took friday of to extend weekend and thought me & my buddy would hit the bay early,He bailed on me for a girl ???Shows you he's not right !.I waited for the kids to wake up and see who wants to go with dad for a fish. With a little push my 8 yr. old said she'd go and bare the heat wave.We got out a little late and after i set us up for a troll she said dad i think i got weeds,She reeled in and had a Perch.WE headed for deeper water and you should have seen the look on her face when the pole almost got jerked from her arms. She fought the fish for about 10 mins. and she got to the boat a nice lovely Sheep Head(aprox 5 lbs)i still had nothing.Trolled again and she caught a silver bass,Me still nothing. We marked lots so i decide to drift with jigs & worms and finally i got a Sheep Head.I could tell she had enough sun and was no longer having fun,We headed home the fish count 3 to 1.She was so proud of herself,Good thing i let her catch those fish (lol).Didn't see anyone cathing anything but us,We did mark fish but what where they ?The water surface temp. was 80 deg.I will try again later on this weekend and post. They only problem is sneaking out the door without an 8 year old.(lol).
