Hi All,

Since the board is pretty quite because the season is closed for Walleye and Pike on the Bay I thought I'd try and get a discussin started to pass the time.

What is everyone's plans for the Spring on the Bay of Quinte?
I myself will be down with a bunch of buddies for the May opener. We will be trolling for Walleye in the Picton/Glenora area. Probably do a bunch of flat lining with dual planer boards at night and then if need be slap on a weight system during the day. Smithwick rogues are our favorite lures to use.

53 days till opener.

Cheers,

Mike

My bet is fast water will be the ticket should be a late spring and high water. Plan "A" Jig the eddies and current breaks. Plan "B" find the nearest weedbed to the rivermouth and jig fish it slow.

I think I might punch a few holes near the river mouth and use a jigging rapala.
Seriously I stay will close to the river mouths if not in the rivers as I see it being a very late spawn. Normal spawn is around the 15th of April but this year I see it being the last week of April.
I find night trolling slowly with body baits effective in a late spring.
Daytime I might have a jig and minnow around the river looking for a feed of males.
Hey it could be a excellent openor for pike as the late spring will keep the big boys in shallow!
