Quinte Fishing

On a different note the duck hunting has been fantastic.

Shot 29 ducks (you don't want to know how many shells it took ) between five of us today...the warm weather has kept the wood ducks and teal around later then normal and despite the warm weather the blue bills are here in good numbers.

Shot a couple geese, wood ducks, teal (green wing and blue wing), mallards, a black duck, and a bluebill. It was a good day. It was pretty windy though. Crossing the lake to get to a pocket with some protection this evening was fun...I got soaked from the spray

Anyone been east of the ferry this weekend?

Great going on your duck hunting.

I fished east of the ferry and also the reach. There were five other boats in the reach and I did not see anyone pulling anything in. We marked some but no takers.

Ya we shot 3 blue bills and 13 mallards last Monday, a great day! I seen 8 woodies driving home from Trenton today, man they are awesome looking birds!

I agree the woodies are beautiful ducks..two of the ones we shot this weekend were gorgeous drakes!! I have a buddy that comes up duck hunting every year around this time and has wanted to shoot a drake woodie to mount but the weather has always pushed them south before he gets here.

I think this might be his year.

Sam...thanks for the response. I have been bragging about our quinte walleye to these guys coming up for years. I was hoping they would be active by the time they got here but it doesn't look promising. We'll be out there to give it a try either way. Thanks again for the response. By the way I'm going to either bring them by or send them over for their licenses and some shells this week. What are you hours this week? I couldn't find it on your website.

We are open at 8:00 am Mon - Saturday and Sun at 10:00 am until ice fishing season and them we will be open at 5:30 am dailey.

Thanks...what time do you close?

Our hours are Monday - Wednesday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, Thursday and Friday 8:00 am - 8:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Good job on the ducks.


Had some non local woodies show up last saturday which was nice. larger flocks of 15-20 birds working our spread, but they were gone this weekend. The non local mallards have starting showing up as well.

We got into a mess of them on saturday. Shot a few wood ducks, but i think most of our local birds have hit the highway, especially since the edge of the creek was frozen on sunday morning.

Do us all a favour and knock off the Cormorants.
