We are sad to hear of the passing of Dot Baker, of Baker's Baits, Napanee. Many of you would know Don and Dot over the years. As customers or friends of Don we thought that you would want to hear the news and lend your support to him. Although the services are past, here is the obituary that we just became aware of yesterday.

BAKER, Dorothy Marie Agnes (nee Creighton) - Of Baker's Baits of Napanee, suddenly at the Oshawa General Hospital on Saturday, September 29, 2007 in her 78th year. Beloved wife of Don. Loving mother of Cindy Baker, Kingston and cherished grandmother of Cassandra. Predeceased by her parents Gordon & Jean Creighton and her brother Ronald. Fondly remembered by her many relatives & friends. The family will receive friends at the WARTMAN FUNERAL HOME, 448 Camden Rd., at Newburgh Rd., Napanee K7R 1G1, (613-354-3722) on Wednesday from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:00 noon with a Reception following. Cremation followed by interment at Newburgh Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations by cheque to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. 10847212

Our deepest sympathies and kind thoughts go out to Don and the family at this very difficult time.

I am hoping that my condolences have been passed along, as I write this message while enroute to Prince Rupert BC. I have sent something into the osprey condolences, but have no idea whether this would in fact get to Don Baker and family.

PS Thankyou for posting this, as the Baker family has been a fixture in the Napanee area and the regions angling scene for years.

Sincerely
Donald Stokes

We feel the same way. Not sure how the osprey obit/condolences thing works. Safe travels.

Mrs. Baker was a great lady.

Growing up and being close to Bakers, I spent a lot of time in there. I even worked as their first ever co-op placement when I was a kid.

Everyday was like Christmas and I was treated like their own.

My thoughts and prayers are with them.

Cheers,

Paul
