I caught the one in my sig. a year ago to this date at Miers pier,it went 11.8lbs.
I do alot of shore fishing and found just after the sun hits the horizen things turn on, also found the worse the weather the better.
I remember one time when I lived in Belleville I went to the pier when there was a ice storm going on. The wind was crazy and was the only guy fishing off the pier at night. I got a whole bunch that night and it was too bad I didn't have a scale handy but I got a HUGE walleye, I'm guessing close to 15lbs easy!!
Back then fast-tracs and long-A-bombers were the ticket, slowly cranked in and the colors went from blk/silver to floro patterns.
I found that firetiger ya can't go wrong with and is what I used last year to catch that 11.8lb'er. Was using the deep diving long-a bomber.
I wanted to go there again this season but ripped my tendons on my right wrist and will be out of commission
totally pi$$ed needless to say.
Good Luck Man and bring a good camera,
