Syracuse WINS - New Orleans Bound!!!!!

Whoops sorry, this is about the ice situation.

As Hay Bay Larry said the North Channel is open near the Generating station but it shuts off as you get to the Ferry. It would be touch launching today as the ice is still in the ramp area. BUT the ice appears to breaking up , probably due to the ferry travelling back and forth. The condition would be poor quality.

Travelling around Hay Bay South, we could see pockets of open water and they're full of ducks. There is lots of open water around Ram Is. and continued pockets alll the way up and past Pickeral Park.

THE WATER IS LOW - oh my gosh REALLY LOW

I took a sort of measurement with a 2 x 6 off the cement pad at our dock and I bet the water is down 4 feet. It's gonna take a LOT of water to fill her up in five weeks.

The Napanee River is wide open without a trace of ice along the banks, there is a slight indication from the road that the level is up some.

That's what we saw today on a drive to Hay Bay.

Superdad, as always appreciate the reports. About the water levels, I checked with the Seaway authority and apparently, they've been keeping the water levels of the Seaway up, downstream of Montreal again, but we should get an adjustment upstream in the coming days. Should be a couple feet difference. Hopefully, with all the precip we've been getting should come up some more.
Cheers, Paulie

Thanks Superdad for the ice, I mean water report.

Sounds like we still may need an ice breaker come opener.

I believe I speak for all the out of towners, keep the ice reports coming. They are very helpful and informative.

See you on the water.

Mike
