THEY WERE OUT!!!
Your reading properly,2 young guy's came in the store yesterday(December the 4,2007) bought 4 scoops of minnow's , to go ice fishing. They stated they found "one and a 1/2 inches of ice", down by Bay Hay Church.
Did anyone hear about 2 young guy's dieing yesterday???

We got frozen out Saturday (boat totally froze), so took a tour and checked out a few spots down that way...There is a lot of ice forming in the back of Hay Bay and some looked decent....Not sure how thick though....could be possible, but I doubt it...

Last weekend Hay Bay at the east end was froze right over except for the odd duck hole.It is also very low ,by about 3 feet I reckon.
It was 2 to 3 inches near shore but we managed to break it thru anyway .Not to fish but to try to get some ducks in closer for a lead lunch.

I would think it may be a while yet for SAFE ice.
