Right! I forgot about the satellite images.

You can click here for recent satellite images of Lake Ontario. The images are updated several times a day with each pass of the satellite, however it has been cloudy the last few days and you can't see the water for the clouds. The last visible image is from December 5, and you can see the Bay is open from around Forester's Island [near Deseronto] on out. But that was three days ago.

It's clear and sunny today, so presumably there will be a good shot coming up at some point.

I'm hoping to get out this week - let's hope it gets warmer!

I was wondering that about Consecon lake myself this past week driving by it every day. Wellers Bay is frozen over all except for the typical last spot in the middle. I figured Consecon was shallow and would cool/freeze quicker. Must be spring-fed or something.

must be why? It is like 50 ft deep in spots
