A few years back I was using this certain lure called the Rocket , was wondering what company made this and if it's still available??

Used this lure a few times with sweet results, really calls the fish in and lots of flash etc.

Any help would be appreciated :)

cheers,
FatPat

Fry Flier thats the one :D

I've seen imitation ones but the weight of the lure was not the same, they seemed lighter then the ones I had. But thats the lure though....Thanks!!

Mike thanks for the help, not the lures but now you gave me a new site to browse on :)

When the champs etc. would not work for me this Rocket lure did the trick, has a nice lazy flutter action to it.

thanks again guys!!

Had some for years - bought the first time on the bay but no luck what so ever. Have to give them another go I guess.

Rocket. and sidewinder............ i met an old timer on the bay 7 years back and thats the only two lures he carried out on the ice. the rocket, and the sidewinder.......... they are my go to lures as well now, even though i carry more out on the ice with me, they seem to produce the big pigs.......... perch, walleye. pike. what i like about them is they seem to firighten off the smaller perch so when you do catch fish its usually a larger size in the speciese. dont talke my word for it,,,,,,, just pay attention to your results and see for yourself ............ i cought 6 eyes on big bay yesterday.......... 3 on a champs. and 3 on the sidewinder and the biggest all came on the sidewinder, the rocket didnt seem to produce yesterday but that wont keep me from using it . happy fishing ill be out there sunday evening

I believe the rocket is made by lucky strike .

They are also one of my favorite ice fishing lures as well. I just picked up a couple more from Carra's.

Ummmmmm..... what spoon are ya talkn aboot Fry Flier

Grizzly it's ironic you mentioned 7 years back because it's been about that or a little more since I've used one on the Bay. I purchased mine at a little tackle/bait shop from an Ol' timer too, forget the name of the place but if ya drive down hwy.2 just past that CAA it was across a conservation park (forgot the name of it) it was more of a parking lot to me though LOL.

The Ol' timer laughed when I bought the lure and pretended to Bless the Lure with a swipe of hand over it, says it will catch ya the big one now LOL.

Later that day I was using it near the Bay bridge area and caught a nice 10.5lb'er

At the time that was the biggest I got through the ice , but since then surpassed that one.

cheers,
FatPat

For me always Fishtician, and if ya experiment with the way it goes on the hook you'll get many different flutters etc.

Anyway I'm talking too much now LOL

Cheers,
FatPat

.......... a jig without meat is a piece of metal dancing in the water....... they will come they will look but unless the bite is really on yer never gonna feel a tap........... one of my favorite tricks is to use a stinger hook with just a piece of minnow on it. the lure lures, the taste is what they will hit on even a shy fish cant resist that little morsal put before them ive cought many 14 pound eyes on that lil #12 stinger dangeling below that big flasher of a lure, the up side also is you can make a dozen minnows last a week if you do it right lol
