.Sorry about the repost of this poem but i just had to see, and make it more public. .Walleyed assassin made this wonderful picture to go with my poem and i felt the need to thank him properly. i absolutly loved it assassin, and ill use it often, thank you, and i hope you all like the poem as well. .............. ..Grizz

From early in spring through the long days of summer sometimes we fish and sometimes we slumber. Trolling for miles, and sometimes we anchor we all know its big fish that we all hanker.
Way back in fall, we really had a ball. Dreams of a trophy to hang on our wall. The walleye got tough, as the water got rough the cold settled in, and we all got a grin
With the boat now bedded for a long winter’s nap. We synched, and tightened down every strap. With tender care we oiled our reels, and put up our gear, it should be fine until next year.
Way back in the shed we dig out our sled, as dreams of thick ice dance through our heads, with visions of big perch, walleye, or sager we put in some gas, and fire up the auger. With new line on the reels, and lures shined bright we settle in and pray for some cold cold nights.
Big pail of minnows, and a pocket of deer jerky, and for the bitter cold we have a flask full of wild turkey. Out on the ice we sit on a bucket and feel quite content when we think to live the good life, this must be what the preacherman meant.
..With wind burnt faces, and frozen cold fingers over our holes we sit and we linger. We raise and we lower, and we play with our jig, but most of all we pray to our lord to send us a big pig.
Good days, and bad days, we have had them all. We question our sanity, as do our wives as they laugh at us all! Why Oh! Why would you leave this warm bed, My only reply is cause i gotta catch a fish bigger than that som-ma-beach Fred!
Now season is over the ice grows thin I look in the back yard, and get a new grin. The snow is melting. The axle’s i do see, and my mind turns to spring, Ill get you this year Fred, this year IM gonna be King.
I know he will call me, and want on my boat, then he will laugh, and he will surly gloat ill say look old boy you won fair and square but last year is last year you had better beware we have come full circle so its no time to gloat, remember this is my boat, and you could be afloat!!
