Hey,
I took it upon myself to email W5 yesterday. I never received a response, but I made sure to send this web site attach. and a brief history albeit, to my knowledge) of the problems in Quinte.
I'm hoping others will take the five minutes to do the same.
Go to CTV web site and follow the W5 contact links.
Does anyone have a CBC site or contact person.
I agree, we can't fight this issue (Native Rights?) alone in Quinte, the issue is much larger - New Brunswick Lobster, BC Salmon, ect.
Why can't we have one set of laws for everyone?!! I'd be happy with seperate rules for designated Native Lands (ie: Tyend.)
My two cents.

You don't have to be an in your face activist with a sign and long hair. Just use the available media to help spread your cause - worked for Bush.
Need more emails sent!!
Good Job Carl.

Presentation of any story needs to have at least some semblence of "package appeal", to be considered by the media. Think very, very carefully about the angle, support material, contacts, etc. Combine this with timing.

So many things are doable.....it just requires one to understand the homework that needs to be done. This story is a touch late for most media outlets to consider (season is closing in on the spawning walleye angle), combined with an appetite that has perhaps not reached staturation....but must be very distinct in approach to ensure legitimate coverage.

I am not suggesting anything here....just providing information to allow some possible future efforts, a chance. I do hope that those that waste, sell, pollute or poltitcally neglect this local fishery have a chance to enjoy some attention at some point. 8)
