Please remember to ask what your potential MPP will do for the outdoors, during this upcoming election. Regardless of party, (looks good for Ernie even though I am not on the Christmas party list....lol. The local candidates currently in power, both look steady at the present time, with Gerry hopefully maintaining his portfolio and ......getting on with the job at hand.

I have went through a number of light documents relating to this and found virtually nothing (relating to anything remotely taking a serious approach to outdoor management)....making.....an opportunity for those that qualify and ask... ask... ask. Be it for the Minister of Natural Resources area, or any surrounding the Bay of Quinte...a simple inquiry, and a few question will all help get attention....and results. Note the gentleman from the Haliburton area from a few years ago, let alone any results oriented MPP......the commonality is their ability to listen and work with their constituents.

This same type of technique has successfully been used by a host of groups throughout the US and parts of Canada. Remember it and vote for people that are interested in the outdoors....read and ask.

ODG:

You must have got new glasses! "Rose coloured" glasses perhaps. What has Jerry Ouellette done for any BOQ constituent with an interest in proper and equitable management of the BOQ walleye harvest? Implement a slot limit for recreational fisherman to help protect the fishery from large Aboriginal harvests. What report card have you used to assess the local candidates as "looking steady"? Sounds like you're stumping for the status quo. Which is rather incredible actually, since you think of yourself as a "forward" or "out-of-the-box" thinker. Time for reassessment?

It is good to hear from you Acceptable.....regardless of whether or not I find your words "acceptable or.....unacceptable".

Simply put....I want to get the job going in a forward motion, with the best resources 'currently available' within the ranks. Understanding the tools and possible applications at hand is merely a step. Implementing them and moving beyond the currently observed status quo...raising the bar so to speak. That is all.

As for me....I am but a simple soul, that would like nothing more than to enjoy the silence of a fishing trip and be an observer of many things relating to nature. Far from thinking advanced (out of the box)....it is but a wish of mine that the true leaders that can instill such marvelous vision, begin to be active and come forth.

"Thoreau (some writing guy) had many of what are regarded as the finer ideals when it comes to the outdoors." I am not ready for a place of such lofty stature but I do thank you for possible consideration.....lol...... I am simply a person that wants to show some miniscule level of concern, despite the obstacles. One person may not be able to make a difference in the overall scheme of things....but certainly they can at least begin to get people thinking about how.
"Acceptable?"
