I didn't do so well myself. 2 fish in the slot. Both were caught out front of Thompsons Pt. using a CC shad Blue/silver with the offshore in-line planer board. I spoke with one of the charter Capt's and he had caught a number of fish but described it as a slow day(Saturday). The water is still quite cold but with the warm weather in the forecast this week it should help alot.

 Post subject: Good Weekend!!
PostPosted: Mon May 06, 2002 9:42 am
We had a decent opening weekend and how can you argue with the weather. We fished near Thompsons point and caught three in our boat between 3am - 6am Sat, 26", 28" and 29.25 which we weighed in at 7.66. My buddies boat caught 8 fish all between 5 & 7 lbs at the same time. On Saturday night / Sun Am we got skunked and they got a 7 lber and our other boat caught 2 about 9pm between 5 & 7 lbs. It was very quiet Saturday night but a beautiful night on the bay, the water like glass. We caught a total of 14 Walleye and only one guy skunked out of the seven of us so you could say not a bad weekend and the Leafs scored in triple overtime to boot. We had the top 3 fish about 4am Sat but that changed in a hurry. The only downside was the fishing slowed down saturday night and we didn't get anybody on the board. Lots of fun and we'll be back next year and probally sooner.
