As much as I would like to see many changes into the management actions and personnel deployement of MNR....I always have to respect a job well done. My hat is off to openly publicizing some deer poaching charges on Amherst Island in the Kingston Whig Standard.

Proactive measures are always appreciated be it being visible about enforcement or harvest concerns, or simply having an officer or biologist .....active within the numerous outdoor communities doing PR stuff (eg. getting a biologist to actually go into a river like the Napanee and do a few samples, etc. would be quite a positive site).

There is a combination of factors as to why there has been a more visible presence regarding enforcment. First and foremost, there is a new Lk. Ont. Manager that needs and wants to gain public, political, beaurocratic acceptance. This is a solid move that needs support. Your CO's will get more confidence and more support with this type of move.

This will be combined with some select initiatives by the new BOQ committee in addition to a few public announcements (good news flag waving stuff by/with Jerry and Paul) when needed.

Hopefully a few of the Glenora biologists will "see the light" and take a break from the reports and study's (there is trully more in life than being published in what is more often than not an unknown journal to the public)> Turn the computers off and get the waders on, or even if they have forgot whih foot is 2which...do some work....with the public......hint hint, nudge nudge....and I am ok with a push or two if need be. PS. The budget will be reviewed every now and again......get on with the job of public supported management, or get on the unemployment rolls.......closer than you think at times gentleman (and ladies of course).
