Hey Guys,

Got to tell ya I had the best Walleye fishing ever this weekend. I was taking my dad down to Picton for the first time. He's 78 and loves to catch Pike. But once he caught a 26 1/2" eye he was hooked!

I was long line'ing silver/blue 6" stick baits (XPS's got them on a trip to the states, they look like Rapla originals) and they just kept on catching eye's. Here's the total:

Friday 6:00PM -9:30 - 31" Pike, 20" eye

Saturaday 8:00AM-1:00 - 12",23"24", 26 1/2"

Saturaday 6:00PM-9:30 - 14", 18", 20", 2-23", 29 1/2"

Sunday 8:00AM-9:30 - 18" & 22" (Had to go Home!)

After Friday night I gave up on the popular spot for Pike and moved up to Haybay just inside from the channel with all the other boats. It was incredible!

I kept 3 of the over the slot fish and let all the rest go. I've cut many walleyes before but Kevin from Merland Park showed me how to do it his way. Man he's got it down to an art.

Good fishing ....

Great fishing; glad you had success, the big thing you had your Dad out fishing. Whether you caught any or not would have made for a great a great weekend. I just lost my father; treaserer those times when you can can be together there is no better time than being on the water together. Fish biting becomes secondary.

He must've meant to type 2, as the only ones in his post over the slot are the 26 1/2 and the 29 1/2.

Thanks for the comments about dad! I get him out a couple of times a year. My son was also with me that's why I kept 3!

Hey Ken, I think we met last fall at Merlands ( Catfish), you mentioned coming back with your Dad to fish, glad to hear you did and with good results too. If memory serves me correct you had a Lund? Hope to see you up there this fall again (and the other Ken!) I too wish I had a chance to fish with my Dad, he was awesome on the pickeral, could always get them. Tight lines
Jimbo.

You got it right Jimbo! The red Lund. Dad really had a great time. I gave him most of the fish and he's called me twice so far to tell me how good it was. It was great because I had my son (14yrs) with us too! The Ken's are looking forward the the fall get together at Merland this fall. Have to defend the title you know!
