I have caught lakers in Mellon ( Bass Lake for the Locals) using
flat steel or lead core line. The deepest part of the lake is in the west end
of the lake out from what is called Big Baldy rock. Walleye are found
in what is called Big Bay there is a rock face on the south side
and a shoal in the middle, bass and pike are also all over the lake.

Big Baldy is out on its own near the west side of the lake. The shoal
is just south of the island with the big boat house on the west side of the island. There is usually a marker ( old propane tank and a weed
bed)
