Four of us, three from PA and one from Belleville will be staying at Merland Park from Nov.19th - 23rd. Looking forward in meeting your group of guys at the annual get together. I believe I met Dan Elliot three years ago in early May at Perfect Vue.
Back in August, when I was up at Merland Park I caught and released a tagged pickerel in Mallory Bay. I sent the tag and information into the MNR. The MNR in cooperation with the Ontario Commercial Fisheries Association and local fishermen is conducting a tag-recapture study on the yellow pickerel popultion in Eastern Lake Ontario. The MNR sent back to me information on the tagged fish and a really nice hat.
The fish was caught and tagged back in Oct.18,2002 at McFarland Conservation Area near Picton and was 456 MM or 18.2 inches in fork length at that time. When I caught this fish it was 525 MM or 21inches in Mallory Bay on August 10,2003. That is a healthy growth in less than one year. Hopefully it's still growing. Will see some of you in late November.
Regards, Gary
