I was thinking about picking up 2-3 Mann's stretch 15+/20+ lures. Since I will be limiting my #'s, what are the primary colours for fall fishing in Quinte I should pickup?

The Clown (Red/gold) color is a very popular color. Also had success on Fire tiger (usually when fished deeper) and the Rapala Tennesse Shad color is also good.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm having a heck of a time finding any tackle shops with a decent assortment of colours of these lures. I'm even checking with the two wholesalers here in Ontario. Might have to order the colours I want direct off Mann's website to get them.

Hey Weedman,

was wondering if you've tried Barclay's or Gagnon's in Oshawa? Superdad suggested I try there but I haven't had a chance to go yet. I was at LeBaron's in Markham and the sales guy never even heard of Mann's.

Ken, I checked with Gagnon's and they have some in stock, but not much in any of the hot colours. I just called Mann's in Alabama and they're assembling an order for me. I can wait to have them ship them 'til end of week and if you're interested I can order up a few for you, and we can split the cost of shipping. All the distributors and most retailers are out 'til spring. The prices are pretty good right now with the loonie being a bit higher. $5.95US per lure. Post here or send me an email to let me know. Maybe there are some other interested parties??
I ordered Dr. Death, Perch Crystal Glow, Gold (discontinued), FireTiger Crystal Glow, Tenesee Shad and Mother of Pearl. Seems the Red/Gold is discontinued and no longer in stock. Gonna paint a black back on the gold one. That colour combo seems to be most consistent for me in late fall. Mother of Pearl is deadly during moonlit nights.

Thanks for the offer Weedman. I was only looking to pick up two so I think I'll just stop at Gagnon's on my way up this Friday morning. Did they say if they had any Dr. Death in stock?

thanks
Ken

I stopped by my local tackle store in Hamilton, and they had at least 6 different colours, however, a guy that works there bought all the Dr.Death colours, hmmm, that doesn't seem right. No crystal glow perch either? They are $11 there, how much are they at the other stores you've visited. They also had some Salmo lures in perch there, has anybody used them at all?

Cabelas used to have a selection, but now they appear to carry only the latest in salt-water models.

These are the colours by Mann's

The deal thru Manns directly is a GOOD deal.

I tried the Mann's web site last nite and their new online store but the message I got when I tried to order was that the domain was not ready for use yet. Anyone else having that problem?

Thx.

Hey Ken, sorry no Dr. Death in stock at Gagnon's. Was having some trouble with the Online store myself which is why I called Agnus. Bless her heart, she was so helpful! My order goes in Friday and having it shipped ground to save money. Total cost is going to be about $9.00 per lure CAD which is quite reasonable. Think I paid $13 per at Gagnon's for the couple I bought last year.

If anyone wants to order some and have them shipped up with mine, now is the time to speak up. We'll figure out a way to get them to you upon arrival here. Lures should be here first week of November, just in time for when the big walleye move in.

Fishing world in Hamilton, has a pretty good stock of them right now. I think there is 10 colours. They are cleaned out of DR. death . The pearl black back is pretty close though.
